Default Tow mirrors for other years

Hey guys, I've been looking at tow mirrors lately and I don't have the money for them right now. But, I was just looking around craigslist and saw someone selling a heated power drivers side one from a 2004 1500, said his other one got hit.

I have a 1998 1500, just wondering if this one would work?
And if it would he is asking 100 is it worth it?
If so, I was thinking I would make an offer and wait a while and buy a new one http://www.truckchamp.com/products/T...am-1500-pickup

I'm not sure about a '98, but I got my set for $141 heated/electric shipped. You would have to double check they would fit a 98 but $100 for one used is crazy if you can get both for under $150.

thanks, but I checked on the website and all they have for '98 is regular mirrors, not towing. And 80 I think is a good deal because the one's I found are 140 each new. so I think 100 is good. But I don't know if it will fit.

I would double check though, I think '98's were split in the middle of the year, I had the same mirrors you do, and it worked for me, but I've seen some older '98s that had the older metal mirrors and I think that may be what they are referring to, because the '99s are available.

Just something might be worth checkin on, the mirrors are wonderful and so worth the $160.

so is there a certain break on the 2nd gens that wont cross over ?like 94-97 and then 98 is by itself then 99-01 because that seems to be the case on ebay
i have a 98 2500 and found a set of tow mirrors on ebay , they only list them as fitting 99-01

nope.... 94-01 all use the same mirror BASE

i just swapped the ugly squares on my '97 out for the '98+ plastic oval mirrors. i like them A LOT better. electrical connectors did change in '98.
