platinum gasket
Everybody just drop it. I razzed him a bit, you all dogpiled, now hand the dude a beer and let him in the door.
Personally, I kind of like the guys that'll stick up for themselves. Shows they have a backbone.

WOH now, before we put this to bed; dont compare me being lazy and too broke to want to teardown an engine thats never been run to you asking about the platinum gasket.
HEHEHE all jokes aside, yes, i have gained tons of knowledge from this build! i can tell you every spec and why it is what it is, right off the top of my head. every LAST component that goes into an engine requires LOTS of thought! but in the end, id do it all over again. mind you, i've yet to finish.
it certainly was a very good idea to tear it down, although my machinist said it should be fine. he was suprised to see the corrosion.
the 4bbl m1 can suck LOTS of air to feed ported heads and a starving motor with lots of cubes, which is why the 408 crowd likes them. the m1 will give you more top end on a 360, at the expense of sacrificing low end. on a stock 360 with the goal of more mid-high end power and to eliminate the plenum (i.e. platinum HEHEHE
had to do it
) the airgap is the way to go. both do come at a hefty fee of around $600.
