CEL/Tuner/Inspection
I have an SCT tuner.
When running the 87 tune the CEL comes on and the code is P0601, which is a fried PCM.
I tuned it to the 91 tune and the light went out, and everything was good until I filled up with 89 gas (accidentaly) and got spark knock. I tuned the truck back down to 87 and the CEL came back on.
My question is, if I tune back to 91 for the inspection and the light goes off, the guy at the inspection place said it will not pass. He said I would have to drive 20 miles to get all the 'inspection to status ready' before they can even test it.
What the heck is he talking about? I need to get an inspection asap (2mo past due). If there is no CEL, what would cause me to fail?
PS, I contacted hemifever about this and he says it happens everynow and then, and that is sort of the end of the conversation.
I didnt think nothing of it when the 91 tune turned off the light.

5 minutes before my inspection, I pulled the battery plug to clear my evap system CEL. Passed with no problem. You won't know if they'll pass you until you bring it in to get inspected. Try bringing it to someone you haven't been to before and don't mention anything about the CEL. If it passes, it passes.
