found a cheaper way! axle seal tool
so this morning when i finally got around to putting the new seal in the passenger side of the axle i first went and spent $6 dollars at the hardware store on a 2' threaded rod, a couple washers in different sizes and a few nuts. i came home and tried to use those to pull the seal in with little success because the washer i had was either just a tad too big or tad too small. so i walked away and thought about it over a cigarette... then i thought about a bearing and seal driver i bought a while back at harbor freight for 29.99. well i opened it up and came to the conclusion that the orange size was just barely too big to fit in the axle tube, and that the larger black one fit perfectly on the outside of the tube to hold the rod centered. so i took the orange one and put it on the handle in the kit and spun it a few times on my bench grinder until it fit in the tube nice, then i put the rod through them both while in the axle and very very easily spun the nut from the outside and the seal practically jumped in there! so for about 36 bucks i got it done perfect the first time with no frustrations or hassles and i still have the rest of the money the tool would have cost in my pocket! hope this helps a few people because i know you guys have helped me!

after seeing so many threads saying how much of a bear it was to do this seal i was a little intimidated but i knew i had to do it and when it just popped in so easy i was practically skipping around the garage the rest of the morning! i just cant justify spending that kind of money on a tool i need once, maybe twice if i keep the truck long enough but i dont know anyone else with a dodge so its not like it would even be used by someone else later. i hope your axle seal slides in as easy as mine did!
