is a v10 worth it

I've had mine since October and I'm really liking it, but I had a 5.9 for 6 years and really liked that too. I notice the torque in the v10 for sure, but I think if you won't really be using it for towing the 5.9 may be better, the v10 really sucks gas, I don't use mine as a daily driver so the gas thing isn't a real big deal
The 5.9 just has way more aftermarket support and you can find more information about it when things go wrong

your going to get terrible gas mileage right off the bat, but w/ headers and a tuner i was getting 15 mpg. the 5.9 doesn't do much better on gas about the same, you'll just have a little more humph if you need it. also depending on what year V10 your talking about, the earlier ones roughly 95 to 97 i believe had a head issue but the later models 98 on up are good to go. 5.9's also as you read alot of posts on here as i have, have a plenum problem, V10's don't have that, one less thing you have to worry about. if it was me i would do it, i regrettably traded mine for a 7.3 powerstroke, but i was also hauling travel trailers cross country, not something you want to do in a V10 as i found out.

Dont waist your time with a v10. They get horrible milage and dont last nearly as long as a cummins. You can find a 4x4 cummins auto or 5speed for about the same price and have all the aftermarket support you will ever want. Plus at 600+ hp on the dyno I get 20-22 city and thats with driving like i stole it most of the time.
