Default Ignition and o2 sensor question

I have a 2001 ram 1500 with the 5.2L and I haul and tow a sail boat, but not all the time. I am thinking of using a MSD 6A ignition. I have already upgraded my plug wires, cap, rotor, and installed an MSD ignition coil. I have not read in any post if anyone is running the 6A ignition. Would like to hear what others think of this.

On another subject, I have read many post about changing the 02 sensors and this could help with fuel milage. my question is should I change them even if I have no engine codes for them. If I have no codes and change them will I see/feel any differance? Thanks for any input you other members may have.

Failure symptoms always precede a DTC, and it's not uncommon to find a failure that lasts for months without a DTC ever being set.

If the sensors have entered end-of-life failure mode, then you'll certainly notice a restoration of fuel economy and pep. If they haven't yet, then you won't notice anything at all. My own rule of thumb is to swap them out if they're suspect at any time after 80,000 miles, and if they reach 100,000 to change them out as part of the scheduled maintenance.
