Default Tranny searching or slipping

Ok Noticed that my truck. 2000 2500 SLT QC Seems to slip or search for gear everyonce in a while. Will be cruising along say at 70 on Thruway. Cruise set and it will Jump from say 2100RPMs to 2200RPMs and feel a little slip in power. Any suggestions to check tranny? Could bands need adjusting?

I believe it's a 46RE. I'd have to look to be sure. No misfire. Last tune up was 1000miles ago when brand new engine was put in. No engine light. It's been doing it for quite some time but I thought it was engine related before motor got replaced. Now wondering on tranny.

I do to tow a lot. I tow a race car every weekend all summer long. Tow to fla a lot. I do kick it in and out of OD. Flat long haul once up to speed i'll leave in OD.

...that might be the problem then....its been said not to tow in O/D unless you have a cooler, and possibly deeper pan....because towing in O/D with it stock, can overheat the tranny, hense ruining it down the road.....hows the fluid? MUST check while running in NEUTRAL....park does not give an accurate reading.....and if you have ever added fluid, i hope its been ATF4....ATF3 can ruin our trannys

I have a aftermarket Cooler on truck. This is a replacement Jasper tranny. Been great. I need to check level again. I topped it off after putting in new motor cause dipstick came out and lost some fluid. I have a new filter and gasket for the tranny was gonna drop the pan and change it. Should I not?

go ahead, that wont hurt, can only help....when they are hooked to the machines and flushed at repair shops....thats when it can be bad......but just dropping the pan and changing filter and fluid wont hurt anything
