Default emergency help needed!

okay so im on my way home tonight, go to stop, and the truck doesnt want to, so i look at it, and its on 1500 rpms and wont go any lower, i pull over, make it stop, put it in park, and it shot up to 4000 rpms so it became obvious to me, the accelerator is stuck, so i got it home, checked the codes and i got this:

P1494 Leak Detection Pump Switch or Mechanical Fault

can someone explain this to me? im pretty clueless, its too dark for me to look at it tonight, but i need it for tomorrow, so is it something i can fix in the morning? or deeper than that?

I'd check and see if one of the bigger hoses on your intake manifold aren't on your intake manifold anymore, or the other end isn't where it's 'sposed to be.. (PCV broken? Brake Booster popped off?)..

did you have a firm pedal when braking? If so, it's likely okay.. A brittle PCV could conceivably break.. and whallah: a ton of air (throttle) without opening the butterflies..

ill check that stuff in the morning... it did seem like the brake pedal was quite firm, but then again since i was fighting against the throttle it may have just seemed firm. ill take a look, thanks

I had the IAC stick a couple of times.
At least I guess that what did it. I was having other problems too and a new IAC took care of it.

i second an iac or tps problem, or a mechanical cable/throttle body/throttle plate issue. i don't think a vac leak, emissions leak, etc could run the rpm's up that high (2000+) 1500 maybe, but not more.

pull the air filter and inspect all the cables and plate rotations first.

Umm, no. If the TPS says the butterflies are closed the PCM is not gonna give the injectors more fuel, so you just wind up with a lean mixture.
