I have an opportunity to buy a transmission out of a wrecked 2001 1500 with 45k miles on it, the transmission will only cost about $75.00 and I've got to pull it myself ... will this transmission work in a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500? They are both 4x2, short cab long bed. I don't want to go pull this transmission, pull my original transmission, then install the new transmission and get into all sorts of issues with it.

How long does it usually take to remove these transmissions on your back with hand tools?

 

You might have to swap the sensors inside, but other than that it will work.
