Default TPS Calibration

Does the TPS need to be calibrated/set by a scanning tool after replacement? I was told it did.

Thanks in advanced.

It does not have to be set with a scan tool. If you removed the neg battery cable while you installed it, the pcm will reset, and you'll be fine.

The manual does not mention it and dealership told me it did... Go figure.

Thanks Zman

There is one thing you can do to it. Hold on let me find it.

I'll be damned, can't find it. It's a mod you can do to make sure it's set at the correct voltage. Oh well sorry. If I find it, I'll post it here.

Drill out the 2 brass guides where the mounting screws go. Screw it into the mount ing point, but not so tight that you can't move it a bit. Then back probe the center wire with a voltmeter, and set it to .01 volts. Twist the tps a bit until it reads as close to .75 volts as you can. Tighten down the torx screws.
