Default Can't turn O/D Off.

The other day I was driving on the highway and notcied my truck wouldn't shift down. I was doing 65 tacking 3200 RPM. It took about 5 minutes until it finally knocked down to about 1800 RPM. Now it seems to sift fine, however I can't turn the OverDrive On/Off. I hit the button on the Column and nothing happens. It doesn't even light up on the dash.

Is this a computer problem or is my Transmission going out?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Default RE: Can't turn O/D Off.

I can only tell you this.

My OD light came on and would not go off. I kept driving and the Transmission light then came on. I was in the country so I tried to get to the nearest town, but too late.

This is what I was told regarding these indicators if I'm wrong somebody will correct me!
1) OD lights turns on of transmission is getting too warm.
2) The transmisson light comes on when you are really in trouble and the tranny is dangerously hot.

In my case, the pump was failing (with no warning other than the lights I mentioned).

I would get it looked at ASAP. If you drive it and the transmission light comes on, then you are starting to do damage.

The transmission seems to be working fine...but the light still wont show...can I replace the light on the pannel? Or is it a fuse that maybe went out?
