Oh! My mistake, and I apologize for the misunderstanding.

About half the time (in my experience, YMMV) adjusting bands that have been slipping for just a short time will do the trick to break up the glaze so I'd try it first and if it seemed to work I'd go back and adjust them again in a few thousand miles, but I wouldn't set my hopes on the miracle happening. As often as not they're severely glazed by the time you're solidly convinced that they're slipping.
