well, i've been digging through the wild vents posts, because I am the proud new owner of a buggy 97 ram 1500 (v8 360) that seems to have this wild vent issue.

I also noticed that I have only 1 setting for air - either on or off... its off through every blower option but the strongest and then it proceeds to blow air right up through my defroster regardless at my engine RPM - from idle to on the express way.

I'm also working through an issue with the truck stalling out after starting (when cold) - and figured it was either a dirty TB, or the TPS.

The po didn't disclose this and i'm trying to resolve the issue. any pointers beyond "read the other posts" are welcomed, because I'm already digging through them. :-)

 

There is a resistor on the side of the heater box under the dash that is most likely blown. That's why the blower motor only has one speed.

 

Stalling out could be the IAC as well. Clean it and the hole it sits in when you clean the TB. Be careful not to push the shaft of the IAC into the solenoid when cleaning, as this has a chance of ruining it.
