my truck keeps dieing
hi people im new to the hole forum thing and i dont know if this is the right place for this question but hopefully i can get some help
i have a 97 ram 5.9 litre engine
latly it keeps dieing whenever i let go of the gas and somtimes it smokes. at times it goes away and runs fine but usally its messed up. i thought it might be a blown head gasket but there is no water in my oil and visa versa. i also gave it a tune up and that didnt help. a buddy of mine suggested my o2 sensor, could that cause this problem?

clean the throttle body and the idle control valve all of the ports that are going to it.. there is at least 1 small one. this should fix your problem...
edit: while your in there, look down the intake manifold on the bottom of the intake for any signs of oil pooling on the bottom. if there is... you have a leaky plenum gasket... this is a common failure and easy to fix.
