Default Window motor or track broken

My gf attempted to close the window when my arm was in there vertically , and in doing so either it broke the motor, gear, or track system. Right now the mid point of opening and closing the window is where the problem is. I need to grab it and pull the window up to close it. I can hear the motor work and once I get it past the 'sweet spot' it goes up fine.

How bad is it to disassemble the window motor and track system? any good write ups? what do you think the issue is?

the problem is likely the plastic belt that drives the regulator thingy up and down. one or two or three of the teeth on the belt are stripped out, so when you lift it past that spot, it continues on up.

its not too bad to replace. buy a $5-10 door panel tool to pop the panel loose. remove the screws in the door handle, mirror area, maybe one more? use a plastic putty knife to ease the panel up and not scratch the door. also to slide back and forth to locate the clips. the door panel tool catches in the notch of the tree, and pops it out with no damage. slide a piece of cardboard under the tool, again to prevent scratches.

check rockauto and other places for the drive belt.

use a plastic putty knife, not steel.
