Its either Captain or Aim4, and it is Adobe for sure who've used grade 8 stainless with no ill effects. You can reuse them too..... But-

First off, I'd only personally use the tty's... Secondly- I'm confused I think; isn't red loctite permanent? These bolts are going in your heads man, (except for the corners)... I'd be thinking blue if it were me... Just something that will grip those 'hardly over finger tight' bolts in place.

Well i bought some grade 8's and washers for 6 bucks. Red loctite is far from permanent lol. Its supposed to be the strongest but I've used it on header bolts and all kind of stuff and took them right off. Hopefully next time the intake comes off it'll be to rebuild the motor(hopefully couple years from now) in which case I'll be going with a set of iron rams anyway.

Mind you it takes a little more motivation to break them loose.

I've used SS button top bolts on all my manifold installs since 2004 and never had a problem, and I don't use loctite either.

The important thing is to torque the bolts in the correct sequence to only 12 ft lbs.

EDIT: I don't want want to give anyone bad advice, just saying I have never used the Mopar Bolts.

Well I got my fingers crossed they work. My step dad reused his intake bolts and it's fine so hopefully I'll be ok.

Do you have the torque procedure...?
It's basically criss cross from inside out in 2 steps, don't be tempted to go over 12 ft lbs.

thanks for the topic. was thinking about useing sumthin other than stock (grade 8-stainless) on my rebuild but wasnt sure. loctite sounds like a good plan.

may not want to use red locktight in an aluminum thread application but just sayin. have had good luck releasing it in steal tho. it works well.

Well I hot it all done today. So far so good. I also put a 50mm tb and new air cleaner setup. I definitely notice a difference, even with stock gears and 35's it takes less pedal to keep going up a hill.
