Default My coffee cup holder broke! grrrr!

Hi guys, my coffee cup holder plastic clips from the hinged plastic supports broke the other day. normally i sort of help it down, but it dropped down and cracked the little circular clips that go around the lugs on the cup holder to keep it square and supported.

anyway, i was just wondering if any one else had some neat and nice fixes for this. i got an idea or two involving epoxy and some washes painted grey, but before i would try that, thought i would try on here as everyone is super helpful i have found

cheers.

I'm interested in knowing a good way to fix this too. I've got my CB mounted to that since it's really the only place to mount it and still be able to reach the microphone. I had thought about rigging up some kind of string system to hold it up, but I haven't figured out a way to get the strings to roll back in there without having to fuss with them.

i was going to try to find one from a JY also, but you could do the cable/string idea. just use a eyelets clamped on both ends of a piece of cable and then use the top screws as one support and then screw it to the holder on the other end, so it creates like a castle door drawing system kinda thing.....

Yeah, I was going to go get one from a junk yard, but in my situation it will just break again. Since the CB radio isn't going to be mounted anywhere else in this truck, every time I put it down to place a drink there, it slowly breaks the holder. =)

When mine broke I got some epoxy and a couple of metal washers that had the correct inside diameter and epoxy'd the washers were the plasic was broke ( I had to grind the side down on one of the washers for some reason) hooked it back up and it's still working a year later. You realy can't even see the washers or the epoxy unless you get realy close either.

I just super-glued a washer to the fold down arm where the eyelets broke and slipped 'em into the notches on the cup holder.

Good luck finding one in a junk yard. Cup holders and Dash Bezels are like gold around here.

Mine broke, and I saw severl for sale on Ebay. I was worried they might arrive in the same condition as mine though, so I just bought a new one from a dealership. I don't remember what it cost, but it was worth it IMO. I use the cup holder for something everytime i'm in the truck. I couldn't be without it.
