Default This can't be a unique problem

First let me say that I've checked the fuse panels and all of the fuses are good. With that said, here's the problem that I am having...

I have a 2000 1500 Quad 4X4 with 210,000 miles on it. They've been pretty much trouble free up until this point. My truck has the towing pkg and Saturday I was towing a car that I recently purchased. The first thing that I noticed was that I lost my lights on the trailer. Then about half way back on the two hour return trip I realized that my power door locks, power seats, radio and dome light were not working. I also ended up with a check eng light about the same time. All of my exterior lights are working fine, it's just the interior and the towing lighting that seem to be the problem. The first suspect was a fuse or relay but I've checked all of them and they all are good. Should I be looking for a bad ground or is there something else that I am overlooking that will remedy this problem?

I also want to mention that I went to find out what the check eng light was for and found out that there was no power to the OBD connector.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

I think you might need to check the IOD fuse. I know you said you checked all the fuses, but it's the one thats covered by a black protector in the inside fuse panel, you have to open the protector and then get the fuse out. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

and... what about a brake controller? Do you have one? if so.. maybe there is something with that?

Hope I could help a little

Thanx for the quick response. The IOD was the first fuse I checked. Definitely not it because I change it anyway(just in case). I didn't check my brake controller, never crossed my mind but it'll be at the top of tommorows list.

Well, the brake controller was not the issue. I still haven't been able to figure this one out. Has anyone had any experience with the multi-function switch causing other electrical problems? Although the MF switch is not directly related to the problems I am having, I've heard that they are indirectly linked to some of the controls that are acting up. I have been having trouble with my wipers parking but I never gave it any thought to being associated with the other problems...

honestly it could be a bad ground wire....

i had a problem where when i hit my blinkers the reverse lights came on....would hit my brakes and only third brake ligh came on....put it in reverse the brake and reverse lights were on....

turned out to be a single ground wire that corroded out of the connector and wasnt connected anymore....butt connected it together and boom, everything works fine
