Default is there a TSB for the plenum gasket??

just wondering if there is one due to how many people seem to have problems with this. just found out mine needs to be done and I dont really have the time nore the confadince to tear off the manifold and fix it my self I already broke some hard plastic "vacume line thing" doing my t stat the thing just snaped as soon as i tuched it.

Yes, there is a TSB, but it wont help you. However, a Factory Service Manual will.

i just thought alot of dealerships will fix tsb's for free they did at several of the ones I know

They will fix tsb's for free if the vehicle is still under warranty, but on a 14+ year old vehicle... I seriously doubt it. Think about what you're asking them to do: if they had to retroactively fix all of the common problems on vehicles sold over a decade ago, none of the automakers would still be in business.

Even if you could get them to do it (and thats a *BIG* hypothetical) they would likely just replace the gasket which wouldn't address the real reason it went out: using 2 different types of metal.... a new gasket would work for a while, but it would inevitably bust again somewhere down the line.

When these trucks were under warranty, yes they would. But now they will charge you for 7-8 hours of labor.

Fix it yourself, its pretty easy to do.

yeah your prolly right ill attemp it my self i found a new manifold from summit for $300 but i dont know if it will take a throttle body or if its for a carb so i will look into that if not ill just pick up the kit from hughes

I looks like all of the manifolds on summit are for carbed engines. If your looking for a new intake check out the FI airgap from hughes.
