Hows it looking?
My question is should I leave the runners the way they are, cut all even or cut them all the way down? My local machinist cut them for me so they were all even but that was as low as he could get them. I know with the 5.9 your suppose to cut them all the way down but is it worth it if they are already cut a little and all even. What about the small center divider by the throttle opening , should I cut that out as well? Thanks.
I dont think there is really a "right way", however, I chose to sharpen the edges of the runners with a small file, then polish smooth with a little crocus cloth. As far as the amount cut off, looks to be about in line with most I;ve seen.
Here is mine in the "working stage" but you get the idea.

I also posed the question of cutting here:

But basically the response was "it might run like ***". Not sure if anyone has actually tried though. I'd be interested to see....

I used the parts washer at work (Jet Engine Mechanic) and it worked wonders. I also used my Dremel and smoothed the runner walls as far back as I could reach. I also quickly smoothed the sand casting just all around the inside and then all over everything with crocus cloth.
I also opened up the injector bosses to keep fuel from hitting the side and dripping down. Silver_Dodge did a pretty good writeup, kinda based mine off this, I just didnt have to worry about the divider.
