timing chain?

yeah number one cylinder at tdc. then line up the timing marks on his new chain.

"yeah thats the way i did it on my truck. Confirmed it in my chiltons. You have to line up the old set pull it straight off and then slide new set on the same way. I had to use alot of brake clean to get the crap off my old set to see the marks. But after i did my truck became a whole new animal runs way better than it ever did before."

Thats exactly what i did, oh and the rough idle went away i pulled the all the computer connectors and left them off for about 20 mins or so and when i plug them back in it came to life no rough idle, easy start up and it runs like a raped ape
