Default Got my magnetic oil filter wrap - filtermag + pictures

Well it took forever but I got the Filtermag. I snapped the thing on my wifes intrepid and my dodge. Her car got an oil change last week and my truck needs one soon. So Im going to run her car for 5k miles. ( I use mobile 1 full syn so I extend to 5k ) And cut the filter open and see if its as good as CAR CRAFT said. My truck - In theory- should have very dirty oil filled with metal particles so Im going to run it for a week and cut the sucker open and check it out also. I dont feel thats a true test though. Id much rather let it sit for 5k miles but I am curious and want to see if I wasted my money. Ill post up all my pictures on my website when I get this tested out. I have high hopes for this product and to me this makes perfect sence. Heres the pictures I have so far.

Oh and for the person who asked will it fall off on the trail.... Well I took the magnet and clamped it on my free weights from my weight bench. 3 bars held 10 kilo (22.2 pounds) before crashing to the floor and scaring my wife.

Now the thing has 12 magnets so if 3 bars held 22.3 pounds

--- follow me here ---

22.2 pounds divided by 3 = 7.4 pounds of force per magnet.

Now since there are 12 magnets on the filter wrap lets times 12 x 7.4 pounds and we get.......

88.4 pounds of holding force.

And Id even round up because this was a very poorly executed test. I just wanted a rough idea how much it can hold....

So youd have to get a rock or stick up in there to loose it. It will not come off on its own. In fact when I installed it it pulled so hard to the filter I pinched my finger and my 7 year old might have learned a new word.... doh!

Heres the pictures...

Good point I tried to put it as far as I could away from the heat of the pipe but Im sure they must test these things.

I think it must get pretty hot from the heat of the oil filter so I hope I dont find a blob on the ground and row of magents on the filter. lol

Sorry for the double post but today is the day I cut the filter open and take a look see. Just waiting on the wife to bring back the new filter from the base exchange. Im going to make a video of me opening the filter and seeing whats in there. Stay tuned.... Im not sure if Im hoping for a ton of crap or for it to be clean. Clean might mean very little engine wear. Or full of crap might scare me on whats going on in there. Oh well.....
