axle seal? D60

Default axle seal? D60

noticed it today, wat smells like axle fluid on the bottom of the knuckle

how long could i run it like this? jus add some fluid once in a wile i didnt wanna touch the front axle till i could get a free spin kit, which is whats next after i get new carrier bearings for the rear

i think your 2500 D60 is the same as the 1500 D44.
if so - just disassemble the entire damn front end including pulling the diff for the drivers side. replace two $10 seals, and then reassemble the entire truck.

forever. i ran mine for 3 years before i changed them.

something i learned. when the diff was full all the way to the fill hole - it would leak heavily. when the diff was just a tad low, it barely leaked any.

yea thats how my pinion seal is in the the back. i fill it till its about coming out the fill hole, it leaks a little puddle when i go to work for a a day or 2 then its down to drops, and i think i read im only supposed to fill it 3/4in below fill hole,
