Just wondering if anyone can tell me what this is. It looks like its plugged/ connected into the vacuum lines, but its just sitting loosely. Not sure if it's supposed to be plugged in or what. I found it hanging loosely right behind the driver side valve cover. But for the life of me, I cannot find where it would plug into.

 

its a purge valve it doesnt plug in to anything and is there to dump vacume when you drop in speed because some of the evap stuff cant have to much.

 

I was told that was a breather for my front diff... or tcase, i forgot

 

alright, cool. thx for the info. it doesn't look very clean, like it was supposed to be plugged into something, so i haven't lost sleep over it, but just wanted to make sure it wasn't something we unplugged a few months ago when we did the plenum. But...purge valve...gotcha. Sounds good to me

 

it could also be for the front end but its a purge valve none the less and its all good. ihave the same on in my truck. just wasnt going to chase the actual source

But in all seriousness; I concur with the above, it looks like a purge valve, nothing to worry about.
