Default help please big problem

well i have no clue what is going on with my truck i have a 1998 dodge ram with the 360 in it and this morning i went to start my truck and my gauges and lights came on then when i went to crank it over they shut off i so i turned the ignition back to off and got out to check my battery connection thought maybe a wire was loose then the gauges and lights came back on went to crank it over it started but didnt want to and it was idling hard and died so i started it again and kept my foot on the gas to keep it running after a few minutes it was fine. so i went to work and leaving work today it did the same thing any ideas of whats going im im clueless

Check your battery. Our trucks hate dead or weak batteries.

The rough idle and dying could be from the loss of battery...mine does that if I disconnect the battery. Takes like 10-20 minutes for my computer to remember what it forgot.

check the easy things yourself. remove and clean the battery cables, terminals, etc.
if they're dirty - charge the battery.

next - have the battery load tested at any parts store or service center.

as said, they won't idle properly with a weak battery.
