Default Band adjustment

2000 Ram 5.2L Auto

Not exactly sure which tranny the truck has, but I am wondering what the procedure for adjusting the bands is. Are there any articles on the web with the procedure outlined?

Thanks.

There are 2 bands one outside the pan (kickdown) and one inside the pan (low reverse). If you have a 46re (14 bolt pan) the procedure is torque to 72 inch pounds and back off 2 turns on low/reverse and 2 7/8 on the kickdown band. I just got done with this on mine and it shifts great now only problem I ran into was how much fluid to put back after a filter change. Book told me 4 qts but was more like 6 qts.

Good Luck
Steve
