97 Ram 1500, E Brake light stays on (ABS light too)...
Hey guys, help me out here.
Ive got a 97 ram 1500 sport 4x4, 5.2L. When I put my foot down on the brake, the brake engages... I release the brake and the brake releases BUT the E Brake light in my dash stays on... as does the ABS light on the dash.
E brake lines are in pretty bad shape... I wanted to make the E brake tighter but discovered they were frozen/rusty this weekend. Now all I want to do is fix this issue of having the light stay on when the brake is disengaged so that I can get an inspection sticker.
Any ideas how to shut this light off? Even more helpful, any ideas what I need to do to fix this issue? Its happened before.

The ABS sensor on top of the rear diff can definitely cause this problem but there are a lot of other things that can do it as well. Use the search function on this forum. There are lots of threads about this. I put a new sensor in mine and turns out the only thing that was wrong was the wheel cylinders in the back were leaking badly.
