Default programmer help.

1995 Ram 1500 5.2 L CAI exhaust. Currently has a jet chip in it.

I heard that If I got a programmer like bully dog I could get up to mid/ high 20's mpg. Is this true with what I have? If so where can I find a used one and what kind should I look for? Thanks

There isn't a programmer for your truck. You have to get a another PCM with the tune already on it from b&g or somebody. The bullydogs can squeeze that out of a diesel but youre never going to see high 20 mpg's with that gas burner.

+1. Pre-1996 trucks came with a computer (PCM) that is incompatible (older system) with all programmers. Only options are pre-programmed Mopar Performance PCM for your model year/engine size, or send your PCM off to B&G or equivalent for reprogramming.

This will get you better performance. However, you will have to run a higher octane fuel (usually 91 or greater), and you may only get 1 or 2 MPG more than what you are now, absolute tops. You may not even get that, depending on your driving style and other things you have done to your truck.
