transmission probles
ok i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9 v8 and its on the second transmission know it wont down shift. it goes in 1st hard so i pulled the pan and there is metal flakes in the oil. so i pull the tranny and pulled it all apart to see what happened. didn't find anything wrong to my knowledge what can cause this problem?

Third to second downshift is performed with the front band, as well as holding second gear, second to 1st is the rear band,along with reverse.
My advice is that if your on the second trans, I am assuming that the radiator wasn't flushed or changed,the check valve not removed from the trans cooler line,or the torque converter was reused,and now your valvebody is plugged up with debris from prior failure........Then there's always the bad rebuild..........
