Default Problem with A/C

I have a 99 Dodge Ram P/U with the 3.9l. The ac will work fine at night time and early in the morning. when it is the hottest during the day it will work for about 5 mins and then stop. like fifteen mins later it will do it all over again. I have enough freon in it and its not overcharged. any suggestions will be helpful. This is my first dodge so im not an expert with them . thanks in advance

Is it just getting warm or is it switching from the dash vents and coming out the defrost vents?

If the compressor is cycling, it is most likely low on 134a.
