Heres before and after for those of you considering

Bought a case for 280$ (4 kits) went in with 3 buddies. I only needed one which ended up being about 70$ plus brushes and solvent. 5 hours of work with prep. Steel brush preped, solvent washed, car wash blasted, dryed, taped off, did the seams, then rollered the bed. in the morning did coat 2. Overall AWESOME. little rough textured but i think thats the point.

Yeah 1 can was PERFECT. i got to the very end and thinned it just a bit with xylene because after 2 hours of coating most of the solvent in it had evaporated and you could tell it was thickening.

how rough is the finish? can you crawl around on hands and knees in comfort or is it too rough?
i had planned to do this, but saw someone's that was very very rough and it scared me off. i don't know but it might have had sand mixed in with it.

It definately is rough. There is another brand that one of my other friends did that was smooth (durabak smooth http://www.durabakcompany.com/colorchart.htm ). If I had a camper shell I would go for that as crawling to the back to put something in wouldn't be comfortable like you said, but I don't and only occasionally I will throw something in there. The rough is so that it grips and stuff doesn't move around. All depends on your taste.
