Default Bad Fuel Pump

On the way home from the lake today the Ram (1998 4x4) put me on the side of the road 40mi from home. After checking for spark and fuel determined the fuel pump not comming on. So I beat on the gas tank and it came on. Go 2-10miles it would die and just beat on the tank and it would runn a few more miles. got it home after stopping 5x.
So the fuel pump bad right? Ive replaced fuel pumps before just not in a ram.
Is there anything special I shuld know that I will come across during the change?
Autozone and oreillys fuel pumps are $222. Is that fine for the pump?
Is there a fuel filter on these trucks? Thanks

yea its ur fuel pump bro. i just had the same problem, and so did someone else, guess its that time of the season. yea i got the 220 dollar airtech? i think from autozone. works just fine. comes witht he new rubber seal and the whole pump assy. which includes ur fuel filter, its built in.

just put a jack under ur tank, undo the filler neck and vent hoses, undo the tank straps and let her down, be careful not to kink the lines, and then unhook them let it down the rest of the way and swap it it, and reverse ur steps. pretty simple.
