Default grinding and growling

hey everyone! its been awhile. I know this might be a long shot but I have a noise I am hearing from my truck. When I start it up I hear what sounds like a grinding or growling noise that sounds like its coming from the transmission when inside the truck. It will do it in all gears and I notice it more when the engine and tranny are cold, but it does do it while its warmed up too. I can't quite pin point the noise from the outside, but from the inside it sounds like its coming right from the top of the hump in the middle of the cab. Its pretty loud but it seems to drive fine...for now. Any ideas would be appreciated!

If its a 4x4, it sounds kinda like the gears in the front but the symptoms don't line up... but i guess it wouldnt hurt to make sure it aint coming from the 4x4 or transfer case... I aint no mechanic but mine has done that, especially when shiftin the transfer case.. but also make sure your transmission fluid levels are good...

I should of clarified when I said it does it in all gears, I meant while at a stand still, not driving. So like it will do it in park, reverse, nuetral and drive while going nowhere. When I start to drive i can't really hear it. The fluid is good. The tranny had been serviced a little over a year ago (complete flush and filter, bands adjusted etc). I had it at the mechanic recently for an egr valve I think and it started doing it a few days after that. not sure if they're correlated.

Does the noise change with RPM? Belt look good? Pop the hood and see if you can pinpoint the noise more. If you want to check the accessories pull the belt and spin them by hand.

Hmmm.... beats me then.. Im somewhat new to working on Dodges but it does sound like it must be coming from around the transfer case/ transmission area
