Default 97 2500 manual trans

ok i have a 97 2500 HD with the NV4500 manual trans. something ive been noticing the last few days when cruising down the highway in fifth gear im getting this weird pulse type vibration. its coming from the trans or the t case im not sure which. i think the trans because i tried cruising in 4th and i couldnt feel it or hear it anymore. i cruise at 60 mph all the time with the cruise.

any ideas????

The NV4500 is notorious for loosing the 5th gear nut. Probably time to disassemble the rear of the tranny and fix it.

This is common search you tube for nv4500 you will see a lot of videos with the cause of the 5th gear problem.

Or you could just give me the transmission and transfer case LOL

Awesome. I wad planning on putting in a clutch anyways so I will go through the trans then also. Should I avoid driving. in fifth or will it be ok for a while?

Well everything has a price..... I been waiting for that 5.9 to grow up and straighten up so. Give me a good number and ya can have her. :-)
