Catalytic converter
Be kind to me - I'm a newbee!
For about three months now my 1996 Ram 2500 (360 gas) has been slipping in and out of torque converter lock-up under strain when pulling my 5th wheel
last weekend my truck died on me (total lack of power) and the cause was a blocked catalytic converter - after installing the new cat, miraculously, my tranny now seems to be operating fine!!!!!!!
Could it be that the change in back pressure was causing my transmission malfunctions?

Forget about the "miraculous healing" of my tranny - the reason I thought it might be fixed was that the lock up had completely failed and therefore there was no 250-300rpm difference as it locked up and released......today I had serious shift flares 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and would not shift into O/D.....It's at the doctor for a complete re-build........
