Default Air Conditioner 2000 Ram 318 hp

The fan on my 2000 Dodge Ram quits blowing whin I go up a hill or when accelerating a little bit. When I take my foot off the gas it starts back and I can hear what sounds like a door (vaccum?) closing. I checked again today and noticed it is blowing out of the defroster vent when not blowing out if the ac vent.

Any ideas what to check.
Thanks

Ya, you have a vacuum leak somewhere, but finding it can be the hard part. Do a search on this forum for vacuum leak, and see where others have found their leaks at.

We need a sticky on this where people can post where they found their vacuum leaks so others have an idea of where to look if they discover they have a vacuum leak. Mine was on the vacuum line that runs along the passenger frame rail next to the exhaust. The exhaust heat had burned a tiny hole in the vacuum line. It was cheap and easy to fix.
