Are the 02-05 1500s much better than ours?

I owned a '98 1500 RCSB 5.9 4x4 for four years and now have a '04 1500 QCSB Hemi 4x4. Both fairly modded. The 2nd Gen I think is still sentimentally my favorite truck of the seven full size 4x4s I've owned.

BUT, the Hemi has it all over the 5.9, but let's remember, the 5.9 Magnum is basically a 1967 designed LA360 with fuel injection and a few other very minor changes. Technology-wise, by the late '90s it was pretty long in the tooth.

The Hemi not only has 100 more HP but gets about 25% better fuel economy. The only place they are close is torque, but only in the extreme low end of the RPM range. Once the RPMs get up around 2000, the Hemi becomes a whole nuther monster. PLUS NO PLENUM ISSUES, LOL...
