Have a 96 3/4 ton and my ignition will turn to start the truck but will not turn bac automatically. Manually needs to be turnrned back which if you do not know about could ruin the starter. what could be causing this problem.
Also want to find out how big a project to install cruise control on a truck that did not come with it.

 

There is a spring inside, that must be broken. Remove the covers and the switch to check. As far as the CC goes, anything is possible with enough effort. I'd say you would want a donor truck.
