trac bar on 01 ram 1500
hey all...its been a long time.
i have a question concerning said truck.ive read in other posts,to check a trac bar, jack up and turn wheels side to side and watch for movement.i did this yesterday and the movement i see is the ball joint on the bar(at full turn)moves up and down.like theres a space between the joint itself and the bar.when this happens,i can see the front axle shift.im thinkin i need a new bar.now, ive heard that the oem are garbage but my truck has 81k mi and if a new one will last that long....i prob wont have the truck for another 81k mi.id like to move up to a 2500 with a stick : )
also,i can feel something in the brakes that transmits to the steering wheel when i hit bumps in the road.could this be the track bar?the track bar is connected indirectly to the steering components, which are also indirectly connected to the brakes?so if the bar is moving....wouldnt i feel it in the steering wheel?
thanks for listening.

yup, sounds like your bar is shot. if your going to go with another truck, just get a stock replacement and save the bux for the next truck...
as for your other issue, could be warped rotors...
