Seafoam & Oil Change
I have not used seafoam before, but I hear this stuff is some Miracle in a can or something!
From what I understand you do 1/3 of the can in each the oil, gas, and sucked through the brake booster line? You then drive for a few miles with the seafoam in the oil then change it out?

SEARCH button, LOL Do you have any idea how much this topic has been discussed? I'll give you my opinion , but jeez. DOn't use it in the oil, I don't know what you think it will do to your oil/engine, but , just buy some Rislone and use that in place of a quart of oil ever oil change, and be happy. It(the Seafoam) does work good to clean the intake(through vac line) and in the gas is fine too. I use Techron + in the gas though and Seafoam in the intake.
Ive got a question for ya zman. If your truck is way old like mine 200K+. Is seafoam a good idea or is it better to use it on a vehicle that has been regularly maintained. I just ask this because the transmission flush is bad unless its done regularly because it can clog in valve body in the tranny. Just wondering if there any bad things that can happen with seafoam that people should watch out for. I just took out my intake to do the plenum and cleaned it good but not sparkly clean like a hot dip bath. I'll search DF to figure out how to do it, but since you've done it a few times I figured I may as well ask.
There is nothing wrong with using the Seafoam(sucked into the intake) or in the gas tank. My problem is, anything that needs to be taken out fairly quick I don't like(JMO) . The Rislone slowly cleans and keeps the motor clean. Not harsh in other words.

If the engine has been properly maintained it whole life, there isnt any need for anything more than straight oil in the engine.
The best way to clean your engine is to use a high detergent motor oil like Valvoline or Pennzoil...and DO NOT be concerned if your oil is coming out "dirty looking" when you change it. That simply means the detergents are doing their job by holding the dirt in suspense rather than depositing them on your engines internals.
