How high an idle are you talking about? IIRC when I changed my IAC it would instantly idle at like 2 grand once it started. I had to rev it a few times and it idled normally again.. .. I want to say someone on here replaced theirs and just floored the pedal with the key on and motor off so the computer could learn its values for the new part and it worked for him .. but don't hold me to it.

Have you tried cleaning or replacing the throttle position sensor?

Default same problem... idles crazy

hows it gong people. my truck has also been idling funny. i have a (1994 2wd ram 1500 with a 318 and a manual swap). every time i get on the gas and start flooring it the idle acts up. just yesterday i pull out of my home truck is running perfect idling between 500 -600 rpm. i let the truck warm up and go put gas everything is still perfect. so i go to get on the highway and figure y not roads empty lets see what the truck has. i floor it all the way to 85mph 1st,2nd,3rd,4th gear all the way through i felt her pull, i have no complains. as im about to get of the highway im in 5th gear and i feel sort of a cruise control effect. then i notice the truck has now started to idle at 2000rpm.. even with clutch engaged shes idling between 2000-2200 i get off the highway i pull over at a gas station and popped the hood, shes still idling all crazy. but everything looks fine. after letting her sit for about 5 mins she calmed back dwn to 500rpm. but what gives ????

i checked for vacuum leaks and didnt have any. and ive also cleaned out the IAT and throttle body.

but the problem still persists. and its been going on for awhile now. any help ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I assume you have a 5 speed manual tranny? (info not in sig) . Anyway, replace the TPS as suggested( it can also be tested per Haynes manual, or one of the free manual downloads in the FAQ section). And, just because you cleaned the TB and IAC, does not mean the IAC is fixed. It might need to be replaced as well.
