SCT Turner for a 1996 RAM PCM Fact and Question?
try readjusting the tv cable for the trans, i have a double shift at around 3/4 throttle but I figured it was down shifting for more power then deciding to go back into the higher gear.
It only happens to me when trying to slow pass a car or if im just messing around on a wet day, cause full throttle in rain dont work so good.
And I pretty sure your fact is the other way around we dont have torque management

I asked Hemi.....
Does the 96 not have any tq mgmt at all - so no switch... Or it has tq mgmt but no switch in the PCM code to turn it off...
And he said
"Now that I don't know. I think it does have some but SCT hasn't found where it can be turned off.* '97 to '03 follow the same tq mgmt patterns.* If*'96 matches the '97+ then it's already turned off as the equivalent piece in the code already shows it disabled.* "

94 and 95 don't have any tuners really available for them because they are the old OBD I computer system. Very limited.
1996 was the first year for OBD II, and Chrysler decided to do some hybrid OBD I, OBD II crap until about 1998 or 1999. Thats why a lot of tuners state 1998+ or 1999+. The SCT is one of the few that works earlier.

I been running a new modified 87 tune from Hemi all week, It has my stock shift points and had no trans problems so far and engine is running good. I guess my PCM don't like the shift points being altered...
I was thinking that the Borg-Warner gov solenoid would be a nice upgrade if the shifting problem continued with the 87 tune w/stock shift points, but Hemi thinks their must be a code problem with my PCM accepting the shift changes..
I still plan on changing to the BW solenoid since I might be able to get a deal on one thru work.. I work for Borg Warner Turbo systems and we are suppose to be able to get any BW manufactured product at cost, so will check with Customer Service..
