You might bend the cheater bar or break the breaker bar. I hope it comes off easy for you though.

I just put ball joints on my 01 Ram 4x4. I bought the press kit from Harbor Freight and it worked just fine. My ball joints were very hard to get out and I put a lot of force on the press. As for Moog brand I read several reviews that spoke very highly of them. Plan on taking 4-6 hours if they are in there good!

Isn't the torque value 175 ft lb? Haynes says 175...but alldata says 263 ft lb. Which is it?

Nevermind, I'm an idiot, alldata says 175 too

Default Ball Joint Removal Points

It can be. The difficult part is often removing the hub bearing, especially if you live where they use chemicals to deice the roads in winter. My RAM 2500 the left came off normal the right would not. Had to finally use a carbide blade and cut the ball joints in half, remove the entire assembly and take it into a shop and have the wheel bearing and hub pressed out. After that a new bearing with ABS sensor and hub was necessary. After this removing the remaining ball joints wasn’t difficult. You might use a lot of anti-seize when you put things back together.
Ensure you have the right size cup over the ball joint as it has a shoulder and if your cup is over the ball joint but on the shoulder it is not going to go anywhere when you tighten down the clamp.

The upper joint is easy to replace, FYI the clamp is awesome for installing a seating the new ball joint. Just make sure you install the lower ball joint first... Trust me.

The lower ball joint is a lot harder to remove, I almost bent the clamp. I ended using a 5 lb sledge hammer and drove it out that way.

But I had to have both my drivers side joints cut out with a torch. The super shop press couldn't budge em
