Default 4x4 drive shaft to short?

ok about a year ago, a local junkyard sold me a transfer case. installed ect no problems. today, I went to install the 4x4 drive shaft.

1st---- problem the drive shaft had a yolk, my old transfer case 4x4 was a bolt on, so i swapped the heads. mounting brackets.

2nd I now see that the driveshaft that i have is about 2 to 3 inch to short.

what i thinking is that the old transfer case could have came out of something different,
here the new transfer case info

Could you please edit your post and make it a little more confusing?

Swap the yoke on the new TC with the one from the old TC and use your old shaft.

Is the slip joint seized? If not, you need the shaft from a truck with the same style yoke the new TC originally had on it.

Yes, the slip joint should move in and out (where the rubber boot is).

However(upon further review), if you look on the advance, autozone or rock auto site. You will find that there are two different shaft lengths. If I were you, I'd put the bolt on yoke back on the TC and get the longer bolt on shaft. There is a 20" shaft and a 27" shaft. You need the 27".
