Interior ext cab door handles not working

Default Interior ext cab door handles not working

I have a 99 Ram 1500 ext cab......

the rear doors have handles on the inside, but I can't seem to get them to work. Ive looked for "child locks" but can't find any....and they are'nt in the owners manual.......
and its tnot the door handles located on the "door jamb"

any ideas??

It's a little plastic clip on the inside of the door that snaps, my dad told me to just glue it but it broke again, you could probably get it from the dealership

There is a cable that operates this. Part No. 55275106. You have to remove door panel. Use caution. Along the window at the back edge ther are three metal clips. Use something to push this in as you pull the panel or they break (very easily, I might add).

It is hard to put them back on as they are set on plastic tabs which are melted at the end. Cable is not hard to install after getting panel off.
