Default Gauge Cluster question

I need to replace my gauge cluster so I'm going to buy one on ebay. Does it have to be programmed for it to work or will it work when I plug it in? Also can the dealership or someone else fix the mileage?

It will work fine, but yes, the dealer will have to program the mileage. Call the dealer first. I've seen on here ,where some people called and the dealer won't do it, unless they install a new one themselves.

Dealers won't do it unless they install it themselves, I was told by the service dept. that when they order you a new cluster from chrysler it comes pre programmed with the mileage. There are a few companies that will do it online though just do a google search. Not sure who I found but there is a good amount of them.
