Default Tranny is droping a duce!!

Hey Gents! Long time no see... LOL. Ive got a large problem here. Yesterday morning I started my truck to go to work, temp out side was about 38 degrees. I started the truck and set the e brake and put the trans in nuetral and let the truck warm up for about 10 mins. When I took off down the road I noticed it wasnt shifting out of 1st gear. I thought well hell maybe I dropped it that far down and didnt notice it. Well I get to the stop sign check it and its in drive not 1st on the gear selector. Ok maybe its just cause its cold.... NOPE took off once again the truck would not come out of 1st gear. While coasting at 15mph I put the truck in neutral and reved it up to about 3 grand let it idle back down and put it in drive again and it shifted! When I came to a stop light I took off again and still wouldnt shift out of 1st gear! The trans has the correct amount of fluid so I know thats not the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced

Oh and when I came home from work today I tried the neutral trick again and that didnt help just stayed in 1st and it shifted one time on its own and never shifted again

Same thing happen to me in january. I bought a new gov sensor, solenoid, tc lock-up sensor trans fluid and a filter.

I then burnt a copy of the user manual to a disc and brought it to my local mechanic.

Asked if he did trans filter changes and how much.

He qouted me $100.

I then handed him all the parts, fluid and user manual, and said "its only a few more bolts to install these, can you do it?"

He said yes and had the truck done in 2 hours. When I went to pick it up he said he went through the manual and also found the torque specs for all the bands and adjusted those too.

All for $160! I also gave him a $20 tip and, let him keep that copy of the service manual for future reference.
