Radio Install Help... <--- Dumbass.
I just got a 99 dodge ram 1500. Laramie
I got excited and cut both the quick connect wiring harnesses.
I looked up some other forums on here, in which i got my speaker wires right, but not my power, illumination, anettena, ect.
the colors im working with are
Pink, Red with white stripe, orange, yellow and black, blue and red, brown and red.
I know with the red and white connected to the yellow, and red cord my cd player turns on... but i cant do anything with it, no sound no display nothing.
It just doesnt make any god damn sense.
please help.

...and don't use God's name in vain or He'll do stuff like mess up a stereo install.

The yellow on the radio connects to 12v hot all the time -even with key off. THis is the radio memory. Red is 12v with key on.
The black from the radio connects to the blac/dark blue from the truck. It is ground.
Wiring diagram is the service manual in the FAQ/DIY section, I think page 4. Also lists colors for wired to all speakers, etc. Installed a new radio unit yesterday, which is why I know some of these off the top of my head. And although it is too late now, a wiring harness adapter is like $10 from auto supply place that eliminates need to cut wiring. Also, if you wanted to put factory radio back in if you sell the truck, no wiring changes have to be made.
