Default 2001 Ram 1500 Transmission Service

I am getting ready to turn 200k mile on my Ram 2001. I have only serviced the transmission three times since buying the truck back in 01. It is the original transmission. Question, should I get it serviced / flushed when I hit 200k? Fluid is still a red color, no burnt smell or black fuid.

Welcome to DF.

First, before anything else, please read this:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-ra...s-section.html

I will move this to the 2nd gen section for ya.

I would not flush it, as that can have bad consequences for these older transmissions. I would, however, have the fluid/filter changed (or change it yourself, it isn't that hard).

I would take it to a trans shop. they usually will dump fluid, replace, dispose and adjust bands for 100 bucks. Actually pretty cheap and less mess!
