trans swap using dakota in a ram

I bought a trans out of a dakota V6 for my Ram V6 both 1998. the only problem is in the linkage. when i hooked it up my gas pedal wouldnt push down. Do i need to swap valve bodies? this is a work truck and im out of work because of this. HELP PLEASE
